Women’s Worker’s Training Centre

The Women’s Worker’s Training Centre (WWTC) in Southern India is a Church of South India (CSI) project, supporting 67 villages and run by the CSI Order of Sisters. The Church on the Heath has been supporting WWTC since 2006 when Helen Ledger, a former member of the Church, went there on a six-month placement. Several of our current church members visited the centre also in August 2017.

The project focuses particularly on the holistic development and empowerment of women and girls in an area of rural deprivation, whilst also supporting the wider community.

At the heart of the project is the Magichi Illam Boarding Home for girls at risk and the Bible cum Vocational Training School for young women.
