Sabbatical Cycling Around Europe

As many of you know I have a three month sabbatical from mid-April to mid-July. For the first month I am cycling around Europe visiting places from the past and, hopefully, going on an inner journey as much as an outer one.

The trip falls into three ten day sections: firstly, riding with my friend Kevin from London to Austria, then on my own from Austria, through Switzerland to Italy, and lastly joining up with my brother Tim as we cycle through France and Spain. We then return to the UK by boat from Santander.

The trip is interspersed with several train journeys, but mostly by bike, and apart from stop-offs with friends and contacts, wild camping.

I hope you enjoy reading the following daily updates as much as I am enjoying cycling them!
